Reggae em Toronto CA

Friendlyness, a Juno nominated DJ, along with his 7 piece band, "The Human Rights" sing songs of freedom, justice and equality delivered via mightyheavy, ultra-dynamic, new roots reggae music. BIO: In the fall of 2007, drummer Eric Woolston struck up a conversation with Toronto Reggae heavyweight Friendlyness on Toronto’s Queen St West. Friendlyness, a juno nominated vocalist with twenty years of experience on the Toronto music scene, was looking to form a new band; one that would spread the message of love, I-nity and human rights via high quality, modern roots reggae music. Friendlyness and Eric happened to be blessed to know some like minded highly skilled musicians including Toronto foundation riddim keyboard player Bernie Pitters who, over the last 30 years has toured the world with Toots & the Maytals and has recorded gold records with Bruce Cockburn. Over the last two years Friendlyness and the Human Rights have been honoured to warm up the stage for reggae legends Gregory Isaacs, Beres Hammond, John Holt, The English Beat and Clive Chin. They have toured western Canada and have been featured on many festivals including the Calgary Reggae Festival, Toronto's Irie Festival and the Winnipeg Ska/Reggae Festival. On the home front they have enjoyed many packed Toronto venues including the Phoenix, Great Hall, Opera House, Lula Lounge and the Elmocambo. Currently, Friendlyness and the Human Rights are looking forward to a summer full of exciting shows and touring their new album: “One Thing.”
